The National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST) is organizing the Namibia Mathematics Olympiad (NMO) 2022 in partnership with Debmarine Namibia as the main sponsor. Other collaborators of the event are the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture (MoEAC), the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Namibia, the London Mathematical Society (LMS), the University of Namibia (UNAM) and the University of Namibian Science and Technology (NUST).

The purpose of the NMO is to promote mathematics and popularize science, technology and innovation among students, teachers, educators and the public. It is a means of encouraging and challenging mathematically gifted youth to take a more active interest in the study of science, technology, and innovation by providing students with opportunities to showcase their knowledge. The event will conclude with an award ceremony.
